An April update

It has been WAY too long since my last post...so here are a few photos to update you!

where playing cards is a favorite pastime.

And yes, they beat us several times! 

Taking birth classes, getting the nursery ready and 

watching my stomach get bigger and BIGGER!

Irish Soda Bread

I had wanted to make Irish Soda Bread last week and was tempted to buy the $2 special at the store. But I am SO glad I waited to make this recipe instead. It is easy, fairly quick and the results were well worth the wait.

Here is what is looked like before I put it in the oven...

...and here is the after picture. It expanded more than I thought it would!

I did have to bake it for almost 50 minutes as it didn't seem done after 40 minutes. 

(this may be because of the high altitude or just my crazy oven!)

 Now for the real test - does Bryan like it?!?

Yeah - A happy husband! For as they say, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." =)

Signs of Spring

At Christmas, Bryan's Aunt Susan gave us some paper white bulbs. After two or three weeks of faithful watering they BLOOMED! Such a beautiful sight when everything else is still pretty brown in Colorado.

Pregnant Buddies

My friend, Kristin came up to visit from Denver last week and we are about three weeks apart in our pregnancies.
It was very fun to compare notes and  tummies. :)

 

Kristin and I have known each other ALL our lives, 

since our moms were pregnant with us almost 30 years ago. Now we get to repeat the tradition!

Valentine date

Bryan took me out for a lovely Valentine dinner at Bisetti's - the same Italian restaurant where we got engaged. Then we walked around downtown and had ice cream - yum!

Meet Baby JB!

Our first pictures of "Baby JB" taken this past Thursday, February 10, 2011. The tech gal kindly labeled all of them, so you should know what you are looking at.

 

 

 It was amazing to watch little baby move around, open its mouth, and stretch its arms. And it was especially funny to see the baby kick back at the ultrasound scope. Obviously, he/she doesn't like being poked all that much! Can't wait to meet this little one in about 4 months! :)

 

A Day for Will

I know most of you are waiting for baby photos and they ARE coming! ;) But in the meantime, I just HAD to post pictures of my adorable nieces and nephews. Before Christmas, Bethany and I promised Will that we would set up a "play-date" to visit him.  Here is what we did -
